Princeton University Department of Chemistry sought a website redesign that showcased their pioneering, interdisciplinary research, and collaborative, engaging work environment.

Initially we desinged and rebuilt the site in 2012, and after a 10 year longevity, again in 2022. Challenges included organizing a large volume of varied content types, expressing the ethos of the department, and navigating client stakeholder feedback and approval. I worked on all facets of UX and UI for this project, from an audit of the existing department site, project discovery and stakeholder meetings, defining user roles and personas, identifying user and client goals, envisioning and planning for ‘branded’ content, site map creation, wireframing, planning interaction design, and visual design.

Tidbit: We decided upon ‘color coding’ the department’s main research areas and using the colors as an auxiliary key when presenting related content throughout the site.
